FAQ's
Q - My child is 5 months old and weighs 9 kilo and their feet are hanging over the end of the car seat can i put him/her in a forward facing seat yet -
A - we would advise to keep the child rearward until at least 9 months and 13kilo if possible and as long as their head is not over the back of the seat then there should be no reason to move them
Q - My child is screaming very time i put him/her in their baby seat, and hates facing the rear of the car can i move to a forward facing seat yet
A - See advise for question above and do not consider moving your child until at least 9months old/13kilo perhaps try hanging toys on the seat or a mirror on the head rest.
Q - My son/daughter keeps getting out of his forward facing seat when i am driving along can i put a clip on the front harness.
A - We would suggest that first you check the harness is at the correct height as quite often we purchase a car seat but we do not alter the harness height and if it is coming from below the shoulder blade then it needs to be taken to the next level so that it is sitting just on or above the shoulder blade. Next thing to check would be that the harness is tight enough, being able to place two fingers under the harness at the shoulder blade height is about right as often the harness is not tight enough. If your child still gets out of the seat then perhaps try a few shorter journeys and either sing, place spotting the red car game or give a reward if they do not get out of the seat, never encourage your child to undo the buckle themselves and do not put any type of clip onto the harness.
Q - How do i know if the car seat fits my car and the other cars in the family as i only want to purchase the one seat if possible
A - We would suggest that you visit us for a car seat fitting and give us the information on the other types/models/year of cars you are planning on using and we will try to find one that fits all, however this may not always be possible especially for the group 1 seat.
Q - I want to purchase a car seat and do not know if the bargain seat I have seen online will fit my car and if i can fit it myself
A - We would suggest that you do not purchase any seat online unless you are 100% sure that it will fit your car as a badly fitted seat or one that is not compatible with you vehicle is as bad as no seat at all. It is worth coming to an authorised car seat fitter before buying a seat as they will advise you.
Q - I have seen a second hand seat for sale in my local newspaper or was it on eBay? should i buy it for my daughter?
A - No, never buy a second hand car seat as you cannot be 100% sure that it has not been in an accident and if it has it will not protect your grandchild to the same high level as it would have done before the crash. Leave well alone your grandchild is worth more than that.
